The new Orion Neck from Proto Scooters has been upgraded with improved geometry. The headtube is shorter, allowing 1.5" of fork clamping with most standard forks. An 84* head tube angle gives you more handlebar clearance, comfort, and pop.
The nose blunt area has been pulled back inside the Deck Plate to reinforce and protect it from impacts during nose blunts, crooks, and smith grinds. The tail of the neck inside the Deck now has a slight radius to soften the rear corners and allow for more flex, reducing the risk of the neck piercing through the Deck under heavy impacts. The biggest update is the debut of the TDIth (THreaded) Hardware, creating a stronger and tighter Neck/Deck assembly than ever before.
Andrew Broussard developed the TDI (Tunglok Deck Integration) system to address the difficulties of welded decks. In short, the neck of a scooter deck is the strongest part, while the extrusion (deck plate) is the weakest. Thus, if you were to break a welded deck, it would no longer be usable, and you would have to replace the entire unit.
The TDI system solves this problem by using two pieces - a replaceable deck plate and a neck, along with its accompanying hardware - that can last for multiple deck plates. Andrew also designed the neck to be compatible with all Proto deck plates, providing unlimited customization possibilities.
You need the Neck, Deck, Deck End Kit, and Brake to construct a Full Deck. We suggest you use the PROTO UBS Brake hardware when creating your Deck; the PROTO UBS Brake Replacement Hardware Kit is ideal.
